Greetings,

It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve Webb County as your Constable for Pct.1. As promised, I have worked diligently to modernize the Constable’s office and have collaborated with other law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of our community. In doing so, we have concentrated on proactive policing, assisted our local school districts with officer presence and traffic control, increased the apprehension of suspects with outstanding arrest warrants, and reinforce border security. In addition, I plan to continue working closely with the courts to efficiently execute all civil/criminal process and meet all needs of the courts. Furthermore, I look forward to investing in our youth through our Summer Youth Academy that encourage citizenship values and keeps them out of harm’s way.

Since taking office, we have concentrated on the following pressing issues: vagrants, crime, and border security. For many years, precinct 1 has had issues with vagrants roaming and committing crimes along San Bernardo area and other parts of the precinct. In order to combat these issues, we established a patrol structure that consists of proactive policing and high officer presence. The goal is to be more visible in our community with the overall mission of deterring crime.

In addition, Precinct 1 covers a large portion of the river front and illegal activity does happen on a daily basis. In order to reinforce border security, we extended hours of operation throughout the year using federal funding (Operation Stone Garden). This grant allows our deputies to assist both federal and local agencies on any illegal activity that threatens the safety of our community.

While all the factors mentioned above are extremely important to policing, community policing and outreach programs are also an important factor for a law enforcement agency. It is for that reason that we continue the tradition of community policing and outreach programs. As an office, Webb County Constable Pct.1 remains active within our community by providing educational information, active shooter presentations, red ribbon presentations, stranger danger presentations, attending career days, community events, and staying engaged in our local neighborhoods.

My goal is to provide the residents of Webb County with the utmost public service. I plan to continue being proactive within our community, so that we can immediately address any existing pressing issues. I pledge to continue working towards making our community a safer place to live.

Respectfully,

Guadalupe Gomez
