WHAT IS DRUG COURT?
The DCP is a 13 month (minimum) judicially supervised treatment program for adults; specifically, its target population includes felony and misdemeanor offenders over the age of 17 who reside primarily in Webb County, have drug-related crimes, or history of drug use, and who are not felony assault offenders, violent offenders, or have weapons offenses.
A problem-solving court which uses the treatment drug-court model in order to provide services supporting co-occurring psychiatric and substance treatment, screening assessments and case management for adult defendants.
An environment with clear and specific expectations and goals which features a team approach to treatment, coordinated with intensive supervision, random drug and alcohol testing, regular and frequent court appearances and appropriate substance abuse treatment services including detoxification, inpatient residential, primary outpatient and individual counseling. The DCP is a proven evidence-based method of controlling drug usage and criminal behavior.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to promote self-sufficiency and public safety by eliminating drug and alcohol use and by reducing recidivism through comprehensive drug court treatment.
