The Ernesto J. Salinas Memorial Community Center is under the direction of Webb County Commissioner Jesse Gonzalez, Precinct One (1).
The community center is one of the six centers and is a place where families can seek assistance in many areas. Some of the services include, utility assistance through the Webb County Community Action Agency, BANC Program and Loteria along with other activities. Once a month, the Food Bank distributes food bags and conducts registration to seek qualifying residents for their program.
Our center is equipped with a technology lab with 12 computers, assisting residents of all ages with research, writing and job searching.
Among other amenities, Ernesto J. Salinas Memorial Community Center conveys awareness to the public by hosting different entities offering information on services provided within the area. Additionally, the center is available to rent for meetings, parties, weddings, etc. The center features a large main hall and a fully equipped kitchen. Center was refurbished in 2010, adding a dinning room for the elderly program and a library/technology center.
